In fact, once you have learned to do a few of the simple stitches you will be amazed how many things you can create. Embroidered doilies have been around for generations. Our Grandmothers did it all by hand, and it was so beautiful. I still have a tablecloth embroidered by my aunty. Now you can buy doilies already made to embroider with a transfer pattern, some will come with the crochet edging already done for you as well. These may have a colored pattern with colored threads attached which depict which colors to use on the various patterns. Here are a few stitches that may be more useful than others: Stem Stitch - for the stems Satin stitch- this can be used to fill in the flower blooms on roses Chain stitch- this is great for daisy flowers Blanket stitch- for as the name suggests or any edges Follow the
